Artist Profile
Andrea Bonfils is a mixed-media artist based in Connecticut and New Mexico who creates paintings and sculptures using a wide range of materials, exploring the intersection of nature and humanity. She has exhibited her works in various museums and galleries and is globally featured in private and corporate collections. Her results reflect her love of nature, community, and humanity and are characterized by an earthy reverence and intense, contemplative, and at times fantastical vision. Bonfils encourages viewers to engage with her highly textured encaustics, which offer a tactile relationship and variable perspectives. Her work draws upon her community organization and talks therapy background, demonstrating her appreciation for the human experience and her quest to explore and unite nature and humanity through art. Bonfils holds a Master's degree in clinical social work and has worked in administration before pivoting to a career in fine art 20 years ago.
