John, an artist from rural Indiana, draws inspiration from found objects, technology, and nature to create contemporary abstract sculptures, furniture, and decor. His work often uses linear planes to create depth and three-dimensional space. Recurring themes in his work include interdimensional exploration, the abstraction of nature, and reflections on myth and faith. He incorporates current and past technology into his designs and tries to make a direct reference to his inspiration in the finished piece. John's parents valued simplicity and function, which influenced his outlook on life. He traveled the world, especially in Asia and the Pacific, and settled in Hawaii for a time. Renowned theologian Joseph Campbell heavily influenced John during his time in Hawaii. He believes that beauty is not limited by culture, geography, or religion and that similarities can be found worldwide. John later moved to Colorado, where he resides with his wife and two dogs.
