David Perez Escudero is a New Mexico-based artist inspired by the region's dramatic landscape, which he has explored since his youth. He uses a unique micro-palette technique to capture the vitality of nature, creating layers of paint with small fractures that change in intensity depending on the time of day and light source. He studied art, math, and science at New Mexico Highlands University and the University of Madrid, and draws influence from artists like Velasquez, Goya, Manet, Monet, Bonnard, and Cezanne. He has exhibited his work in numerous shows and markets, receiving awards such as Best of Show and Best of Fine Art at the Hispanic Contemporary Market in Santa Fe. His paintings have been collected by private collectors and corporations, as well as public collections such as the Museum of Art in Albuquerque and the New Mexico State Capital in Santa Fe. David currently resides in Santa Fe and has studios in both Santa Fe and Las Vegas, New Mexico.
