Artist Profile
My process involves both intentionality and spontaneity, letting the mediums freely interact and speak for themselves. I use textural mediums such as crackling pastes and modeling gels to turn the canvas into an organic surface reminiscent of distressed wood or bark. I then apply layers of metallic acrylic to create history and patina. The abstract figures, based on archetypes of the Feminine, combine gold leaf wax applications and oil-based pouring techniques to emulate the appearance of stained glass. The abstract mixed media landscapes follow the same process with inspiring movements evoking gem-like shapes and mineral elements. Inspired by Art Nouveau and the decorative style of Austrian symbolic painter Gustav Klimt, my work uses universal symbols and themes of nature. Rather than overstate, I tend to stimulate the viewer’s imagination, hereby suggesting a mood of quiet mystery. Through intricate mixed media techniques, my art work reaches a compelling dimensionality, taking the viewer on a distinctive sensorial journey of exploration.
